There are many conference games in Week 4 as we head into the second half of September. What teams should be weary of an upset bid?

The official start of fall will be this Friday and that means that conference play will be heating up. As we learn more about teams, they will be playing opponents that know them quite well. There are plenty of choices this week for upset alerts.

Last week, I correctly picked two upsets. Purdue went to Missouri and blew the doors off of the Tigers and Memphis narrowly edged UCLA in a 48-45 shootout.

All of this week’s picks come from conference games because those matchups seemed the most enticing. Let us get to the picks and the odds are provided by Sportsbook Review.

Both Oklahoma State and TCU enter this week’s match-up undefeated, however both teams have taken different paths to get there. The Horned Frogs road has not been easy with grinding wins against Arkansas and SMU. The Cowboys, on the other hand, have stormed out of the gate and dominated their opponents thus far. They are 13-point favorites over TCU.

It will be an uphill battle for the Horned Frogs to pull the upset. TCU has not won in Stillwater since joining the Big 12 conference in 2012. The Cowboys rank in the top five of the FBS in both total offense and scoring. Despite their weaker schedule to this point, the Cowboys look like a strong contender in the Big 12 and for a playoff spot.

In order for TCU to disrupt what looks like a two team race in the Big 12 between Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, they will need to win this game. The Frogs have a strong running game, leading the conference averaging 230 yards per game, and quarterback Kenny Hill is completing 75 percent of his passes. TCU also has a strong pass rush and their defense will certainly be needed in this one to slow down the Cowboys.

The key to a Frog victory will be to control the clock and keep the high powered Oklahoma State offense off the field as much as possible. If they can do that, TCU has a chance to pull it off.
