1. Quarterback play has been awful

Tulane transfer Tanner Lee came into Nebraska as the starting quarterback for the 2017 season. There was plenty of hype from the program and fans towards Lee but at this point in the season, it seems that the hype was simply just hype.

Yes, the offensive line has not made his job any easier with the lack of pass protection but you cannot put all the blame on the line. The decision-making from the quarterback has been bad and it would be understandable this early in the season if he was a freshman, but he is veteran.

Lee already has seven interceptions in this young season which ranks 128th in the FBS, clear at the bottom. The Huskers are averaging 263 passing yards a game, which is very average.

Lee cannot put any blame on the receivers as they have made plays that have saved him from bad passes. One of his biggest flaws up to this point is his footwork and extending plays.

Many Husker fans criticized former quarterback Tommy Armstrong but now it is obvious that his legs were his best attribute. He was able to extend plays and create plays out of nothing. Lee will have to improve within the next couple weeks or the season could be thrown away. Then the Huskers may start looking for other options at quarterback.
