1. The young arms of the ACC

The final storyline of Week 4 will be the young arms of the ACC. That list includes: Duke sophomore Daniel Jones, North Carolina freshman Chazz Surratt and Virginia Tech freshman Josh Jackson. Those three make up the trio of young quarterbacks in the ACC that are stealing some of the spotlight from the older passers.

The work that Justin Fuente and Jackson have done to get him ready for the season is impressive and the coach will be a top pick for any position he wants going forward (possibly the Tennessee job?). Jackson has thrown for 829 yards, eight touchdowns and has added 115 yards rushing and a touchdown there, too.

Jones is the full-time starter in 2017 for the Blue Devils and has seven total touchdowns with 702 passing yards already.

Surratt had to usurp the starting role from Brandon Harris but the true freshman has looked great throwing for 588 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions. He’s added another three touchdowns rushing as well.

These young quarterbacks have set the stage that the ACC, which many pundits felt would have a massive down year, is the elite conference now with the recruiting and quarterback gurus like David Cutcliff, Jimbo Fisher, Fuente and Mark Richt preparing new passers for ACC play.
