5. Huskies hold Buffs to 14 points

The UW defense has been one of the more impressive aspects of the job that head coach Chris Peterson has done this year. He’s taken a secondary with an incredible amount of turnover and turned it into the strength of the defense.

Players like redshirt freshman corner Byron Murphy and sophomore safety Taylor Rapp have not missed a step in taking over for departed defensive backs like Kevin King, Budda Baker, and Sidney Jones. How quick they replaced those stars was the best part.

The Huskies have not allowed more than 16 points to a single opponent this year. Even though the teams they have played through the non-conference slate are not near as good as Colorado, the Buffs do not have a high-powered offense.

Seeing the way the front seven has limited opposing ground games is a great sign as well. Fresno State was held to under 120 rushing yards and no touchdowns, with less than 4.0 yards per carry against this front seven last week. They have what it takes to hold the Buffs to only two touchdowns.
