Washington State football, in a game early way before #Pac12AfterDark, mopped the floor with Nevada to improve to 4-0.

If you open up the box score for Washington State’s thorough thrashing of Nevada you’ll see one name repeated over-and-over-and-over, etc. Luke Falk, just weeks removed from a benching, threw five touchdown passes against the Wolf Pack on Saturday. He finished just a few yards shy of the 500 yard mark. He threw for 478 yards with a 76 percent completion percentage.

Nevada never threatened in this contest. Falk marched the Cougars up and down the field, scoring touchdowns on five consecutive drives to end the half. Nevada only managed to avoid the shutout after the Cougars turned the ball over on downs with minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

Through four games, Falk has a 77 percent completion percentage, 14 touchdown passes and just one interception. Those numbers are staggering. Falk is the engineer for one of the most intimidating passing offense in the country.

Falk is never mentioned when the nation’s best quarterbacks are discussed. However, he has quietly become the all-time passing leader in Washington State football history. Although he’s flying under the radar right now he’ll have his chances to be heard late this season.

Next: Where does Falk rank among nation's best players?

Falk and the Cougars host Sam Darnold and the USC Trojans next week and will also see Jake Browning in the Apple Cup this year. If Falk can hold his own against those two passers he’ll start hearing his name begin to be mentioned in NFL Draft talk. For a senior, that’s the end goal. However, right now we have to assess his body of work as is. That speaks for itself.
