College Football Rankings 2017: Projected Week 5 AP Top 25 Poll
By Zach Bigalke
Lamar Jackson had a relatively quiet day, but it didnât matter as Louisville blew out Kent State 42-3 at home. The defending Heisman winner threw for 299 yards and rushed for 34 yards in the rout of the Golden Flashes. Jackson racked up three total touchdowns, but he also threw two interceptions and coughed up a fumble.
The Louisville defense proved too much to handle for Kent State, though. Bobby Petrinoâs defense gave up just 150 yards all game to the MAC visitors. There should be some concern after the Cardinals lost the turnover battle. But between Jacksonâs play and the rest of the weapons on Louisvilleâs offense, it didnât matter in the end.
Petrinoâs squad wonât be able to get away with those kind of mistakes once they get back into ACC play. But they still managed to rebound from last weekâs Clemson loss to move to 3-1 on the season. While the conference crown is still a longshot, the Cardinals could move up a spot or two in this weekâs AP Top 25 when it comes out on Sunday.
