College Football Rankings 2017: Projected Week 5 AP Top 25 Poll
By Zach Bigalke
Wisconsin was the only team in the AP Top 25 to have a bye week in Week 4. The Badgers got a rest after an impressive start to the 2017 season. Paul Chryst‘s team is holding opponents to 10 points per game. Their wins, though, have come against Utah State, Florida Atlantic, and BYU. It has been enough to put Wisconsin in the top 10 of the polls leading up to Big Ten play.
Though Minnesota also remains undefeated, the Badgers are the prohibitive favorites to once again win the Big Ten West and play for the conference title in Indianapolis. We will know more about this team once they start league play in Week 5 against Northwestern.
Despite sitting out the weekend, Wisconsin will move up a spot thanks to Oklahoma State’s loss when the new AP Top 25 is released on Sunday. The Badgers are quietly on the cusp of College Football Playoff contention thanks to the steady play of quarterback Alex Hornibrook and the revelatory running of freshman tailback Jonathan Taylor.
