For the second straight week, Florida barely survived an SEC East showdown to remain in the hunt for the division crown. The Gators took down Tennessee last week on a last-second Hail Mary, and in Week 4 Jim McElwain’s team generated another comeback to thwart a Wildcats upset bid. It also dealt Kentucky their first loss of the year, helping Florida further in the division race.

Despite his reputation as an offensive coach, McElwain’s Gators continue to lack an offensive identity. Three different people threw the ball for Florida, generating a total of just over 200 passing yards all day. It was an ugly effort on offense, but they also came together to pull out the victory when it mattered most.

Florida should move up into the high teens of the AP Top 25 this week. They lost a game due to Hurricane Irma, but the Gators are now 2-0 in SEC play and have everything to play for this season. Vanderbilt, LSU, and Texas A&M all come to Gainesville over the next three weeks before the Gators have their bye week.
