Winner: TCU Horned Frogs

No. 16 in the AP Poll up to No. 9

The ninth-ranked TCU Horned Frogs are this week’s biggest winners in the AP Poll as their 44-31 victory over the Oklahoma State Cowboys catapulted them into the top 10. Quarterback Kenny Hill answered the bell as he threw for 228 passing yards and a passing touchdown.

Running back Darius Anderson ran for a career-high 160 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the day. As the overlooked team, the Horned Frogs proved all the critics wrong, making the Oklahoma State defense look pedestrian as they hung 44 points on the board.

The offense punted just twice in the game and didn’t have their first three-and-out until late in the fourth quarter. The Horned Frogs defense forced four turnovers (three interceptions and one fumble) and sacked Mason Rudolph three times in the contest.

The win puts TCU squarely on the radar for a favorite to challenge the Oklahoma Sooners for the Big 12 crown. While many teams saw the Cowboys as a threat, it seems TCU was a team to watch all along.

There’s not much time to celebrate, however, as the 4-0 Horned Frogs host the West Virginia Mountaineers this week.
