DEFENSIVE LINE. C. . DL. Florida State

The Florida State defensive line was mediocre at best. They had their moments but ultimately did not make a big enough impact when they really needed to do so.

Defensive end Brian Burns and defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi led this group with six tackles each. Both also recorded two and half tackles for loss each. Defensive tackle Demarcus Christmas recorded the team’s lone sack on the day. There was just not enough pressure on quarterback Ryan Finley, as he was allowed to sit comfortably in the pocket most of the afternoon.

One positive is the Seminoles allowed the Wolfpack to rush for only 110 yards on the ground. The bad news is they allowed NC State’s running back Nyheim Hines to nearly rush for 100 by himself. They were also out of position when running back Jaylen Samuels took a shovel pass 14 yards into the endzone nearly untouched.

Florida State needs to get more out of the trenches on both sides of the ball. Lackluster and inconsistent play is leading to the poor results on the scoreboard so far.
