3. Darius Anderson is TCU’s best running back

No one really knew how good TCU’s stable of running backs actually was until the SMU game. We got to see Darius Anderson emerge as a real game changer for the TCU offense. Expected starter Kyle Hicks has been dealing with injuries and only has 128 rushing yards and one touchdown on the season.

Anderson leads TCU in rushing yards by far. He’s scampered for 422 yards and six touchdowns in only four games. Sewo Olonilua, Hicks, and Kenedy Snell have taken a significant number of carries away from Anderson as well.

The speed that Anderson brings to the table along with the ability to make defenders miss off the first cut makes him special. And, the fact that Kenny Hill is a dual-threat quarterback means that opposing defenses have a multitude of looks to prepare for.

TCU is averaging 5.2 yards per carry as a team this year. The threat of Hill putting up big stats in the passing game is always there. However, Anderson is giving them the ability to have a reliable running back they can turn to on every down.
