2. Louisville defense did what they were supposed to do

Last week, Louisville gave up over 600 total yards to Clemson. Getting a match up against Kent State was what they needed to right the ship. They did what was expected, holding Kent State to 150 total yards and only 11 yards passing. That is impressive even though Kent State is terrible through the air.

Louisville held Kent State to 2.6 yards per carry on 54 rushes. That is what you called getting dominated. This game is what I called fool’s gold because the main teams in the ACC will be of better quality than Kent State. So, the Cardinals fans take this game with a grain of salt.

Shoutout to freshman linebacker Dorian Etheridge who racked up nine tackles and two tackles for loss. He showed out, which is good for the long run for this defense.

They are still ranked 64th in total yards per game giving up 377 yards per contest. Kent State helped lower that number, but time will tell if the Cardinals are going to continue on this trend.
