The Cleveland Browns could always use an additional playmaker in the secondary. Right now, they have former Michigan product Jabrill Peppers to go alongside of former TCU Horned Frog Derrick Kindred. Peppers does have the talent level to compete among the most athletic corners in the country.

Florida State safety Derwin James would bring another level of play to the Browns’ defense. The offense will be set for the immediate future if former Notre Dame quarterback DeShone Kizer continues to play well.

The stock of the Noles is not high right now after their upset loss at the hands of the NC State Wolfpack. However, James will continue to be among the best players on any NFL Draft Board. Florida State’s defense is chalked full of NFL talent.

If Cleveland does draft James, then they would have the versatility on hand to either take some time to develop James and Peppers, or possibly move Peppers to a different position. Too much versatility is never a bad thing.
