The opinion among NFL teams surrounding junior Louisville quarterback and former Heisman winner Lamar Jackson seems to vary. Jackson is similar to former Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel in the sense that they are both very polarizing players.
It’s hard to take your focus off how athletic and elusive Jackson is on the highlight film. However, scouts will see past all the plays that Jackson makes and find some holes in his pocket passing. But even Jackson’s pocket passing has improved.
The thing that makes the Minnesota Vikings and Jackson such a good fit is the youth, speed, and overall athleticism present on this offense. Florida State product Dalvin Cook and emerging wide receiver Stefon Diggs can help the Vikings develop into a good offense in the NFC North.
Whichever team ends up taking Jackson is also taking a huge risk. While he did win the Heisman, he showed in Week 3 against Clemson that he cannot do everything himself and still has a lot of work to do.
