1. Jacob Park throws three interceptions

Iowa State quarterback Jacob Park has the starting job solely in his possession this year after former quarterback Joel Lanning switched positions. And, Park has taken full advantage of having the starting job this year.

Park tossed eight touchdowns and only two interceptions through the first three games. He’s also tacked on another touchdown on the ground. Even the nearly 1,000 passing yards he’s racked up this year is very impressive.

Part of the reason for Park’s success is the lack of quality opponents facing the Clones and all the talent surrounding him on offense. Weapons like receiver Allen Lazard and running back David Montgomery could make any quarterback that much better.

However, Park’s luck is sure to run out soon as the Texas defense showed out in a huge way against one of the most talented quarterbacks in the country in USC’s Sam Darnold. Park is a big step down from having to face Darnold.
