1. Steven Montez outperforms Josh Rosen

Josh Rosen is the better pro prospect, don’t mistake my words. However, the Colorado defense is going to bring pressure and get to Rosen. UCLA was stubborn against the Aggies and for whatever reason, Jon Chavis stopped blitzing and UCLA started to protect Rosen.

The Bruins came back and beat the Aggies and Kevin Sumlin is now living on the hot seat. Mora and Jedd Fisch have shown only the glimmering ability to adjust pass protection mid-game and an unwillingness to either way.

Steven Montez has thrown for 1,029 yards but has a 1-to-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio. He’s carried the ball for only 2.5 yards per rush and a touchdown. He’s not Josh Rosen and no one is pretending that he is. However, the UCLA defense is horrible and Montez will have success against the Bruins and improve upon his season.

Rosen will be under pressure. Against Texas A&M, he spent the first half on his back and threw all four of his comeback touchdowns in the second half once the pressure subsided from the Aggies defense. Expect the Buffs to keep the pressure on and for Rosen to struggle.

Montez will throw for 250 and total three scores with no turnovers. Rosen will throw for 400 yards because they’ll be behind, but he’ll take 4-5 sacks and throw two interceptions against the aggressive Buffaloes defensive scheme.
