1. Virginia Tech gets closer, but still falls short

The ACC Championship Game resulted in a 42-35 win for Clemson over Virginia Tech last year. The Hokies now have a new quarterback instead of Jerod Evans and a renewed fighting spirit. They’re one of the teams on the come-up in the ACC.

Since Fuente arrived for the Virginia Tech football program after he ended his tenure coaching the Memphis Tigers, he’s done great things. Fuente has maintained a great defense under defensive coordinator Bud Foster while improving the offense.

Clemson is now without Deshaun Watson and could see the result of that reflect in a closer finish on the scoreboard. Bryant has proved himself greatly but does not give the Tigers what Watson was able to do.

Virginia Tech will come even closer than they did in the ACC Title Game a little less than one year ago. However, Clemson is still the better team and will prove that once again. Clemson’s defensive line and numerous offensive weapons will win them the game.
