Clemson Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Virginia Tech in Week 5
1. Virginia Tech gets closer, but still falls short
The ACC Championship Game resulted in a 42-35 win for Clemson over Virginia Tech last year. The Hokies now have a new quarterback instead of Jerod Evans and a renewed fighting spirit. They’re one of the teams on the come-up in the ACC.
Since Fuente arrived for the Virginia Tech football program after he ended his tenure coaching the Memphis Tigers, he’s done great things. Fuente has maintained a great defense under defensive coordinator Bud Foster while improving the offense.
Clemson is now without Deshaun Watson and could see the result of that reflect in a closer finish on the scoreboard. Bryant has proved himself greatly but does not give the Tigers what Watson was able to do.
