The last Saturday in September brings some fun college football matchups. Who should be wary of being upset?

It’s been a fun, first month of the 2017 season. With one Saturday left in September, there are more conference games on the docket. What teams are in danger of being upset this week?

Last week, I correctly predicted Oklahoma State losing to TCU and Florida State falling to NC State. Iowa nearly pulled an upset as well until Penn State marched 80 yards and secured a game winning touchdown on the game’s last play. Being a Lions fan, I’m happy with that result.

There were no enticing non-conference matchups this week to choose from so all the picks are conference games. With that, the point spreads appear to be smaller this week since the teams tend to know each other well. The odds are provided by Sportsbook Review.

After a comeback win at Kentucky last week, Florida returns home to face Vanderbilt, who is coming off a blowout loss to Alabama. The Gators enter the game 10-point favorites.

Right now, Florida is experiencing a lot of turmoil off the field. The reports came out earlier this week that nine of the suspended players are now facing multiple felony charges. For the time being, formal charges have not been filed but this is not a good look for the program. The players currently remain suspended.

On the field, coach Jim McElwain has replaced quarterback Feleipe Franks with Luke Del Rio. Franks was benched in favor of Del Rio against Kentucky when the Gators were down 24-14. Del Rio was only 9-for-14 for 74 yards a touchdown and an interception, which was average at best. I think this was a quick move for McElwain to make the switch.

With all the happenings on and off the field in addition to Florida barely escaping their last two games, the Gators seemed primed for an upset. Vanderbilt got their teeth kicked in against Alabama, but that is usually the story when a team plays the Tide. The Commodores are out to prove their defense is for real. Look for this one to be close and if Vanderbilt pulls the upset, the SEC East will get even more interesting.
