Last week’s projection: Florida State vs. Penn State

Welcome to the ACC wheel of confusion!

Last week, Florida State finally fell out of the ACC’s Orange Bowl spot as they fall to 0-2 on the season. Now Virginia Tech takes the place of Florida State, this would be a good thing but the Hokies host Clemson this week. Still confused? It gets even stranger, if Clemson beats Virginia Tech then the next team in line would be Miami but Miami goes on the road this week and faces Duke on Friday. So if Duke wins and Virginia Tech goes down to Clemson, that would leave Duke as possibly the next team in line for and Orange Bowl bid.

Wheel of confusion confirmed.

As for their opponent, it could’ve been the Wisconsin Badgers had Trace McSorley not gone ripping hearts out in Iowa City this past Saturday. Penn State survives and now has two weeks of games against Indiana and Northwestern. Both games are very winnable and then Michigan comes into Happy Valley, could the wheel of confusion travel to the Big Ten?

Week 4 Impact: We’ve talked about the ACC’s ramifications if Virginia Tech were to lose on Saturday. However, if they were to win. We’d see the Hokies maintain their spot in the Orange Bowl, meanwhile, Clemson would most likely knockout Wisconsin or Ohio State for a spot in the NY6.
