Peach Bowl

Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl: San Diego State (Group of Five) vs. TCU (at-large)
Where: Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta, Ga.)
When: Jan. 1, 2018, at noon ET on ESPN
Last week’s projection: San Diego State vs. Oklahoma State

After overrating the South Florida Bulls for the lone “Group of Five” spot on Saturday Night. In just a week’s time, San Diego State almost coughed that chance up as they survived a win in the pouring rain at Air Force.

As for their projected opponent, it could’ve and maybe should’ve been Oklahoma State but they could not hold serve against a TCU team that has grown to surprise the entire nation as we reach the midpoint of the season. TCU’s win puts them into perfect position for a NY6 bowl and with the Big 12 slot coming open due to them beating Oklahoma State, they are the perfect fit here.

Week 5 Impact: TCU is off this week so baring some type of Big 12 insanity, expect TCU to remain in this spot but the following week they will host West Virginia and then travel to Kansas State right after. San Diego State has UNLV this week and then hosts Boise State in a matchup that most pundits might’ve predicted would be in the Mountain West title game. The game is now a must win for Boise State to survive in the conference, as San Diego State it would be the one in-conference victory that could put them over the top against South Florida as both fight for the “Group of 5” bid.
