DB Lukas Denis, Boston College Eagles

Boston College Eagles defensive back Lukas Dennis has been a bright spot in an otherwise abysmal four-week start to the season. Although the Golden Eagles are 1-3 and 0-2 in ACC play, Denis has still found a way to be a leader on the defensive side of the ball.

Denis has 30 tackles (19 solo, 11 assisted), three interceptions, three pass breakups and two forced fumbles on the season. He forced a fumble and had 13 tackles (nine solo, four assisted) against Clemson last week, despite their 34-7 loss.

He currently leads the ACC in interceptions and fumbles forced. The junior defensive back is coming into his own after making an appearance in four games in 2016. As the Golden Eagles struggle continues on offense, Denis continues to excel on defense.

RB Travis Etienne, Clemson Tigers

The Clemson Tigers MVP through four weeks of play surprisingly isn’t quarterback Kelly Bryant or anyone on their stacked defense. Instead, it’s true freshman running back Travis Etienne.

Etienne has 23 carries for 292 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns in his first season of college football. He is currently averaging 12.7 yards per carry, ranking second in the ACC.

He is a 5-foot-10, 210-pound back that is pure speed when he gets the ball in his hands. Etienne has found the end zone in every game he’s appeared in, despite having single-digit carries in all three of his appearances. With a big game looming this weekend, Etienne could be the X-factor as the Tigers visit Blacksburg.
