WR Auden Tate, Florida State Seminoles

At 0-2, Florida State Seminoles wide receiver Auden Tate could be considered the offensive spark plug for the team as they struggle without quarterback Deondre Francois. Quarterback James Blackman hasn’t been all that bad, but Tate has come through when the Seminoles have needed him most.

Tate has 11 receptions for 179 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns. He’s well on his way to shattering last season’s number. He caught 25 receptions for 409 receiving yards and six touchdowns in 2016.

Through two games, Tate is averaging 89.5 receiving yards per game. His low receiving production could be attributed to the Seminoles two-week layoff but it’s sure to change after their tough loss to the NC State Wolfpack at home.

WR Dez Fitzpatrick, Louisville Cardinals

Redshirt freshman wide receiver Dez Fitzpatrick is slowly becoming quarterback Lamar Jackson‘s new favorite target. In his first season lining up at receiver, Fitzpatrick already has 12 receptions for 235 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns.

He hasn’t quite racked up the receiving yardage at second on the team but that should change with a recent injury sustained by fellow wide receiver Jaylen Smith. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound receiver is finding his place on the Cardinals offense as they have a 3-1 record. he currently leads the team in receiving touchdowns.

He currently leads the team in receiving touchdowns. The redshirt freshman is third in the ACC in receiving touchdowns and fifth in the conference in yards per reception (19.6). He’s still searching for his first 100-yard receiving game but it’s certainly on the way.
