Utah is one of three Pac-12 teams that still remain undefeated after the first month of the college football season. Of the three, they are arguably the most surprising of the bunch. But unlike most undefeated teams, the Utes haven’t been particularly effective on neither the offensive nor defensive side of the ball.

Utah’s offense, led by sophomore quarterback Tyler Huntley, are only ranked 53rd in the nation and have only been able to score 13 offensive touchdowns in four games.

While the team does have a pair of running backs with at least 50 carries for at least 200 yards and a talented wide receiver in Darren Carrington, they haven’t been particularly potent on the offensive side of the ball.

On defense, the Utes have been similarly ineffective, currently fielding the 66th ranked defense in the nation while giving up 16 touchdowns and an average of 382 yards per game this season.

As Utah prepares to enter in-conference play with games against Stanford, USC, Washington, and Oregon in the forthcoming weeks, it will be incredibly unlikely that Utah is able to keep their undefeated streak in tack, and will more likely than not fall back to a familiar 9-4 record.
