Ole Miss Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Alabama in Week 5
2. Jalen Hurts throws two interceptions
Alabama sophomore quarterback Jalen Hurts has played some mistake-free football this year. After throwing nine interceptions during his freshman campaign, Hurts has gone four games without tossing a single interception.
The production has stayed relatively consistent for Hurts. He’s attempted either 17 or 18 passes in each of his four starts. Hurts has done most of his damage on the ground. Fresno State got to see what Hurts can really do when he rushed for more than 150 yards and two scores.
That game against Fresno State actually saw Hurts total more yards and touchdowns on the ground than through the air. Alabama will rely more on the passing game this week. Ole Miss could keep it close with their strong pass game.
The Alabama-Ole Miss game last year did not see Hurts through an interception. Hurts is still a young quarterback prone to mistakes. There’s a chance that Hurts does not turn the ball over even once, but this streak has to end at some point.
