3. Quinton Flowers will emerge from stupor with big statistical game

Quinton Flowers, let’s face it, has been rather underwhelming through the first month of the season. Entering the season, he seemed like a lock to finish with over 3000 passing yards and 1500 rushing yards. At this point of the season, though, Flowers is barely on pace to go over 2000 yards through the air in 2017.

Losing the non-conference game to UMass due to Hurricane Irma doesn’t help the aggregate stats. But even had the Minutemen remained on the schedule, it doesn’t take away the fact that Flowers is currently averaging fewer than 200 passing yards per game.

This week, against once of the worst secondaries in the nation, Flowers will finally make up for lost time. ECU’s defense is currently giving up over 350 yards per game, and the USF quarterback will exploit the Pirates’ porous defensive backfield to maximum effect. On Saturday, Flowers is going to have the biggest passing game of his career as he throws for over 350 yards and four touchdowns.

He will also go off for at least 100 rushing yards, helping a potent offense finally realize its full potential. The scoreboard will get a workout in Greenville as the guests put points on the board with reckless abandon.
