3. Mark Richt is making things happen at The U

Former Georgia head coach Mark Richt took over with the Canes last year. Following a rough tenure for former head coach Al Golden, Richt had a tall task in rebuilding this program to what it once was in the glory days between the late 1970s to the early 2000s.

Richt is an alum of the University of Miami and seems like the right fit for the job. While he did well at UGA, some fans did not feel he did as well as he could have. However, expectations for Georgia always seem to be a bit too high.

Miami is well on its way to contending in the ACC in 2017. With the downfall of the Florida State Seminoles after the season-ending injury to star sophomore quarterback Deondre Francois, the door opened to teams like Miami and the Virginia Tech Hokies.

If the No. 2 Clemson Tigers slip up, it’s anyone’s best guess who will win the ACC. The victor of this conference would likely have a berth in the College Football Playoff cleared for them. Miami has a real chance at winning this conference under the direction of Richt.
