Ole Miss Rebels @ No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide

Sept. 30, 9:00pm ET, ESPN

The No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide are undefeated and made a statement in their 59-0 victory over the Vanderbilt Commodores to open SEC play but that doesn’t mean they aren’t on upset alert this week against the Ole Miss Rebels.

The Crimson Tide rank 4th in the FBS in scoring defense (10.0 ppg) and 18th in the FBS in scoring offense (41.2 ppg). They’re 4-0 and haven’t shown many chinks in their armor this season. The offense is averaging 303.3 rushing yards per game on the backs of running backs Bo Scarbrough and Damien Harris. Harris has six rushing touchdowns on the season.

The task for the Ole Miss Rebels (2-1) will be limiting the Crimson Tide’s offense while giving trouble to their defense. Quarterback Shea Patterson could be up for the task. Patterson has thrown for 1,281 passing yards and seven passing touchdowns in 2017, but also has four interceptions.

The Rebels are the last team to defeat the Crimson Tide in SEC play. They defeated them 43-37 on Sept. 19, 2015. A lot has changed since then, but anything is possible in college football.
