1. Marquez Valdes-Scantling is breaking out

USF wide receivers have played well when called upon this year. Yet, Flowers rarely attempts more than 20 passes in a single contest. Senior wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling provided value to the USF offense in more than just the passing game.

Valdes-Scantling also took two rushing attempts for 80 yards and a touchdown. One of those runs went for a 75 yard touchdown. Valdes-Scantling also caught six passes for nearly 100 yards and one touchdown.

This is the third time in the last four games that he has caught one touchdown pass. Yet, this was the first time that Valdes-Scantling totaled more than 170 yards and two touchdowns. The type of value that players like Valdes-Scantling and receiver Tyre McCants can provide moving forward is immeasurable.
