Tennessee Football: Vols fans have had enough with Butch Jones
Tennessee football fans could only hope to be competitive on Saturday, but after a 41-0 blowout loss, they took to Twitter to voice their disapproval.
Butch Jones has had some good days at Tennessee. Today was not one of them. The Vols were dismantled, embarrassed and repeatedly punched in the mouth by a Georgia team that looks championship-ready.
The Tennessee fan base was already on edge before the game against Georgia kicked off. Sense then they’ve only been sent further into a fury. It doesn’t matter that Jones has back-to-back 9-win seasons, he’s fallen short of the ultimate goal: a national championship. In his tenure in Knoxville the Vols haven’t managed even an SEC East title in a time when the division was wide-open with the struggles of Georgia and Florida.
5 coaches that Tennessee won’t hire to replace Butch Jones
If the Vols do decide to move on from Jones it’s going to cost them a tad more than $9 Million to buy out his contract. While the university might have second thoughts about whether or not this loss to the Bulldogs was the last straw, the fanbase has had enough.
All it takes is a cursory look at Twitter to notice that Tennessee fans aren’t happy. The Butch Jones experiment has fallen on deaf ears in Knoxville and they are clamoring for every name under the sun to come and replace him. Here are some of the best/worst reactions on #VolsTwitter.

Well, Mr. Wolken. How about 41-0?
If that wasn’t enough just get on Twitter for yourself and search #FireButch. If Jones manages to make it through the weekend, and that’s a big if right now, that hashtag might continue to trend until a change is made in Knoxville. Right or wrong, the fanbase is not happy, not happy at all.
