Clemson Football: 3 takeaways from win over Virginia Tech
2. Clemson’s defense is the best in the ACC, by far
Both Clemson and Virginia Tech have two of the most talented defenses in the ACC. Yet, one of the two stood out in a big way as being superior over the other. Clemson’s defense drew two turnovers while Virginia Tech’s caused none.
Josh Jackson did not have as much running room as he did in week’s past. The Clemson defensive line came up huge again and is up there with the Ohio State Buckeyes for having the best in the entire country.
Even defensive lineman Austin Bryant intercepted one pass. The other interception that the Clemson defense came up with was picked off by senior linebacker Dorian O’Daniel and really sealed the victory for the Tigers.
If Clemson returns to the College Football Playoff, it will be behind the talent from the defense. Their defense shut down the Auburn Tigers, a team that just put up 49 points on the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The entire unit could also be the best in the country.
