2. Florida’s offense has discovered its identity

Crazy to say, but the Florida Gators do have an offensive identity and it’s running the ball. It’s the only thing the Gators have done well on the offensive side of the ball. But the numbers do prove that when the Gators run the ball effectively, they usually win the game.

In the Michigan game, the Gators had no run game. They ended the game with 11 yards. But ever since that game, the Gators have done a lot more on the ground.

In the Tennessee game, they carried the ball for over 150 yards. Even though the Vols outrushed the Gators, Florida ran the ball more effectively. The Gators ran the ball for 5.8 yards a carry which was more than Tennessee. They won the game 26-20.

In the next game, the Gators outrushed Kentucky 186-120 and ran the ball for a 5.2 yards a carry. Florida won the game 28-27.

The last two games were very close but Vanderbilt game was not. The Gators rushed the ball for 218 yards, while Vanderbilt only had 46 yards. They won the game 38-24.

No matter who the quarterback is at Florida, the Gators should be able to run the ball.
