Notre Dame had an easy game in South Bend on Saturday against Miami of Ohio. Though the RedHawks racked up nearly 400 yards of offense in the shadow of Touchdown Jesus, they also had two turnovers in a 52-17 blowout. A win over a MAC school won’t tip the scales much for the Fighting Irish, but they put on a strong showing to hold position in the AP Top 25.

Brandon Wimbush was just 7-of-18 for 119 yards, but he threw three touchdown passes against Miami in the blowout. Wimbush added another 36 yards and a score on the ground to pace the Irish to victory. Josh Adams ran roughshod over the RedHawks front seven, notching 159 yards and two touchdowns on just eight carries.

Brian Kelly’s team heads to Chapel Hill next weekend to take on North Carolina before their bye week. Coming out of the break, they face a USC team that is reeling after sustaining its first loss of the season. The home game against NC State could be a pivotal encounter for Notre Dame as they look to climb further up the AP Top 25.
