1. Defense does what is expected to Rutgers

So, the Buckeyes defense did what it was supposed to do against the Scarlet Knights. And what was that don’t you ask? Shut them out on in their home stadium, the Buckeyes defense traveled to New Jersey and pitched a shutout.

Rutgers only managed 209 total yards on Saturday, that is not getting it done on offense, but Ohio State’s defense is the main reason Rutgers barely accumulated two football fields on Saturday.

Quarterback Johnathan Lewis was picked off twice twice, Damon Webb and Dante Booker were the Buckeyes who victimized the freshman.

Besides the Buckeyes only getting one sack, this game was another one the doctor ordered for this defense. A lot of young players got to play meaningful snaps on Saturday which is something that will be valuable via injuries or fatigue in the future.

I know #BuckeyeNation is excited to see Damon Webb make a good play for the secondary so make some noise for that guy. Where will the Buckeyes defense be ranked after all the numbers are calculated? These boys have stepped it up over the last few weeks and this trend should continue.
