2. Kevin Sumlin, Texas A&M

Sumlin remains on the list even after he has gotten a string of wins in that past weeks coming off the Week 1 travesty of a loss against UCLA. The four straight wins have all been close and against teams they are expected to beat. It is tough to get off a hot seat when he came into the season already being on one after AD Scott Woodward said, “Coach knows he has to win and he has to win this year.”

Now you may be wondering why Kevin Sumlin is farther up on the list than Bret Bielema with the Aggies beating the Razorbacks two weeks ago in an overtime thriller. This is simply because Sumlin and the Aggies have had so much more talent to work with. Texas A&M has ranked in the top 20 for team recruiting classes in the last four years and they have nothing to show for it.

Sumlin’s seat may not be as warm as it was four weeks ago, but he is surely still on it. With the team’s next four matchups being against Alabama, Florida, Miss St, and Auburn, Sumlin has several chances to make a case for himself. The pressure is on for the head coach, and he is going to need to produce or there will be a new coaching vacancy in College Station.
