Not all upset picks have to involve a ranked team. Kansas State visits Texas Saturday night in what should be an intriguing game. The Longhorns are a three-point favorite.

Texas is 2-2 on the year so far, with wins against San Jose State and Iowa State and losses against Maryland and USC. The Longhorns seem to be an improving team defensively. After giving up 51 in the opener to the Terps, they have allowed just 10.3 points in their last three contests including a shutout. However they will have their hands full with a Wildcat playmaker.

Kansas State dual threat quarterback Jesse Ertz has thrown for 706 yards and five touchdowns. On the ground, he leads the Wildcats with 332 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Ertz also has some solid receivers surrounding him. Defensively, the Wildcats are only giving up 15 points per game. They are well balanced on both sides of the ball.

Head coach Bill Snyder always has his teams ready to go. The Wildcats have won seven out of their last nine matchups against Texas and the Longhorns may be caught looking ahead to the Red River Showdown next week against Oklahoma. Look for the Wildcats to win on the road to improve to 4-1.
