Louisville Football: 5 bold predictions for Cardinals in October
By Jesse Smith
3. Louisville will fall out of the ACC hunt
Right now, Louisville is tied for third in the ACC Atlantic division, Clemson is first, NC State is second and Florida Sate and Wake Forest are the tied with the Cardinals. Three of the four games they play this month will be against teams they are currently tied with or behind in the standings. Clemson already made light work of the talented Louisville roster.
Louisville is a team that I thought could shock the ACC because of the amount of talent that Clemson lost due to the NFL and graduation, but I personally wrote the Tigers off too fast and that was clearly the wrong move.
After playing three of the four teams that are sporting nearly the same record, a loss or two will push them out of contention for the ACC Atlantic.
Personally, I don’t see Clemson losing to anybody in the ACC this year and if the Tigers were to get upset, Louisville can’t lose anymore this month if it wants to capitalize. Right now, the ACC is Clemson’s until proven otherwise and after this month Louisville won’t have to worry about winning the Atlantic.
