2. Gamecocks set season records against Arkansas

Let’s face it, Arkansas’ defense makes even mediocre teams look like their offense is full of Heisman hopefuls. Pair that with the fact South Carolina has a quarterback that has already thrown for 1,257 yards this season and it doesn’t look good for Arkansas.

As of yet, Gamecock’s quarterback, Jake Bentley had his highest yards in a game against Kentucky at 304. He has had two other games at 295 yards and 256 yards. In short, South Carolina can make secondaries suffer for four quarters and I expect them to this weekend against Arkansas’ 44th in the nation in pass defense.

It doesn’t just come down to passing though. Sure South Carolina can do it and Arkansas can’t stop it but for the Gamecocks, the question is can they establish the run? More so, can Arkansas stop them from being able to get their ground game going?

For Arkansas, it’s not likely they’ll be incredibly effective at stopping the Gamecocks on the ground. Sadly, they have shown that decent teams can run on them without too much of a hassle. Currently, Arkansas is ranked 66th in the nation in rushing defense.

My second prediction is that South Carolina not only makes Arkansas’ defense look bad, I am thinking that they could go as far as to set multiple records for the year, having their best game so far. I predict that Bentley throws for over 304 yards, has his best completion percentage and the Gamecocks have their highest scoring game yet, meaning they put up over 35.
