2. The Razorbacks finish off Rebel Bear for final time

After a bit of revenge, Arkansas is amped. The state of Arkansas is starting to come around and feel better about this team. Razorback fans ask themselves if it was a fluke or is this team really on the right track.

This will be the last time Arkansas faces the Ole Miss Rebels with their mascot Rebel Bear. As an Arkansas fan, I have a special place in my heart for the Ole Miss Rebels and their identity crisis of a mascot.

As I was driving home to finish this very piece, I heard on the radio that the Rebel Bear of Ole Miss will be no more and a new era of the Landshark is upon us. I chucked at a tweet by Banditref (AKA Charles Evans) and then thought back on Ole Miss and Arkansas.

When Arkansas was going through the tough times of early Bielema, the Razorbacks had a flat out breakthrough. No, it was against Ole Miss to start but they were the phase two of the Razorbacks return.

In 2014, Arkansas had just lost to Mississippi State and wrapped up a bye-week to face off LSU. The same LSU that had beaten them in a close game the year before in which Bielema gave us the “taste of blood” philosophical lesson.

It was perfect. Against LSU, Bielema delivered on his word and gave Arkansas the boot and not only beat LSU but shut them out to get his first SEC victory. The very next week, Arkansas beat 8th ranked Ole Miss 30-0 and gave the Bielema era a top 10 win.

This October, I predict Arkansas continues the tradition set in 2014, beating Ole Miss for a fourth straight year. As Arkansas closes out the month with a win, so too do they close out their run against the Rebel Bear of Ole Miss with a win.
