4. Landis Durham becomes the star of the Aggie defense

Coming into the season, the media was filled with Otaro Alaka and Armani Watts and Donovan Wilson. However, a new star has been born in junior defensive end Landis Durham. He made the move from linebacker to defensive end last season, but sitting behind Dae Dae Hall and Myles Garrett, he didn’t get much playing time.

However, this season he has burst onto the scene in a big way. Big enough to be named SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week for his efforts against South Carolina. He currently has 18 total tackles on the season and 5.5 sacks for 26 yards. Those are pretty great numbers for a guy trying to replace a number one overall draft pick.

Armani Watts, Tyrel Dodson and Otaro Alaka have been huge for the Aggie defense to date. However, looking at this team, I truly believe Landis Durham is the guy they need to really get going. His energy and talent motivate the defense, something we don’t see from the Aggies until the fourth quarter.

He’s the star and the leader this team needs to be successful. My bold prediction? Durham finishes the season as the most talked about defender and the Aggie sack leader.
