ACC Football Power Rankings: NC State continues to climb in Week 7
The Boston College Golden Eagles took their third loss in ACC play to the Virginia Tech Hokies putting them at 0-3 on the year. Boston College hasn’t won a conference game since Nov. 26, 2016, back when they defeated Wake Forest, 17-14.
It was another loss for another head coach Steve Addazio though it wasn’t without trying in a 23-10 defeat. The loss is the Golden Eagles fourth loss in the past five games. Their defense did force the only turnover of the game with an interception but on offense, they were an eyesore. They were 2-of-15 on third downs and held to five three-and-outs in the second half. The Hokies led 20-3 before their offense scored again.

Running back Qadree Ollison had six carries for 28 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Things only get tougher going forward for the Panthers as they’ve dropped four of their last five games. They face 20th-ranked NC State this week, so 0-3 could be in their near future.
The North Carolina Tar Heels are 1-5 this season and continue to remain winless at home with an 0-4 record. Their offense was held below 300 yards for the second-straight game as their defense once again allowed over 300 rushing yards.
The Tar Heels defense allowed 341 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns in the game as they gave up over 30 points. Their season has been a difficult one after coming in with high expectations for this defense.
Quarterback Chazz Surratt continues to develop as a passer. He threw for 179 passing yards and a touchdown but also threw an interception. He’ll look to end the team’s three-game losing streak this week against Virginia.
The Duke Blue Devils are 4-2 overall but 1-2 currently in ACC play. They fell to the Virginia Cavaliers, a team on the rise, 28-21 in Week 6 for their second-straight loss in conference play.
