Junior quarterback Jake Browning did not have his best game of the year. However, he did take care of the football and totaled three touchdowns. Browning tossed two of the three touchdowns he was responsible for.
The other touchdown he scored was on a 21 yard touchdown run. Browning is putting up the type of stats that should be garnering him some Heisman hype. Yet, the lack of strength of schedule for the Huskies is keeping him out of those talks.
Once Washington starts really beating some better teams and Browning keeps playing like this, he’ll get a lot more national attention. In this game alone, he completed 27 of his 40 passing attempts for 215 yards.
Browning might not be on pace to match his touchdown total from a year ago, where he tossed 43 touchdowns. But, he is minimizing his mistakes as he’s only thrown three interceptions so far this year.
