In a game where the passing attack for Wisconsin was seemingly non-existence and the running game shined, sophomore wide receiver Quintez Cephus was lone bright spot on the receiving end and stepped up in a big way when the Badgers needed it most.

Quarterback Alex Hornibrook completed passes to just four receivers in the win and finished with just nine completions. Four of those were to Cephus, including a touchdown in the third quarter that helped moved momentum back on the Badgers’ side.

Following Hornibrook’s interception thrown for a touchdown, the Badgers responded big with a long, methodical drive. A ten play, 93-yard journey ended with a Badgers facing a huge third and goal in the Huskers’ red zone. Of course, any points would have been considered a win for Wisconsin after that type of drive, but on third and goal Hornibrook saw Cephus on the outside with man coverage and fired a bullet to him in the end zone.

Cephus was able to get loose from the coverage and turn around just in time for the catch, silencing the rowdy crowd yet again and putting the Badgers up once and for all.

Slowly emerging as the Badgers’ top receiver, Cephus put up another solid game- hauling in four catches for 68 yards and the score against Nebraska. Cephus continues to be Wisconsin’s go-to big-play guy and with his constant improvement, the Badgers’ offense could become more dangerous as the passing game opens up.
