Wisconsin Football: 5 Badgers earn helmet stickers in Week 6
This one is really a no-brainer as the freshman running back not only had the best performance in this game, but one of the best in the entire country on Saturday. Having offers from just Rutgers and Wisconsin out of high school, Taylor is proving why he should not have been overlooked and is running through the Big Ten so far in his early career.
Entering Saturday night’s matchup, only 13 running backs have ever rushed for 200 yards against the Cornhuskers. Taylor finished the night 249 yards and two touchdowns and average of ten yards per carry, making it a total of 14 backs to ever accomplish this feat. Of those 14, Taylor is now the third Wisconsin player to ever rush for 200+ against Nebraska, joining Melvin Gordon and Montee Ball.
Taylor now sits at fourth in the NCAA in rushing this year and has quietly earned himself the right to be included in the Heisman Trophy discussion. He is averaging 153 yards per game and nearly eight yards per carry. Not bad for someone who was seen as the third string back entering 2017.
While Taylor earns the main helmet sticker for this game and probably a helmet sticker recipient for the entire NCAA, this sticker needs to be shared somewhat for the Badgers’ offensive line, who completely wore down and dominated the Nebraska front seven.
It is safe to say Taylor has earned the No. 1 running back spot over Bradrick Shaw and Chris James, which now makes three viable backs the Badgers can throw back there at any time and expect great contributions. Pittsburgh transfer Rachid Ibrahim also had 51 yards rushing against Nebraska on seven attempts.

Overall, the Badgers finished with 353 yards on the ground.
Wisconsin will return home to host Purdue this upcoming Saturday, while the Cornhuskers stay in Lincoln for another night game as the Ohio State Buckeyes come into town.
