With the Power Five teams playing some weaker Week 7 matchups, we turn to an enticing game in the American Athletic Conference. Undefeated Navy visits one loss Memphis and the Tigers are three-point favorites.

This game has potential for offensive fireworks, although both teams operate different styles. The Tigers love to air it out. Quarterback Riley Ferguson has thrown for over 1,500 yards and 16 touchdowns this season. The Tigers are averaging 42 points per game and last week they put up 70 on poor UConn.

Navy runs the famed triple option. Quarterback Zach Abey leads the team in rushing with 870 yards and nine touchdowns. The Midshipment are putting up 37 points per game. They even added a new look to their offensive attack, running the option out of a shotgun look, last week against Air Force.

Neither of these defenses will probably perform well in this one. It’s a big game and will factor into determining who will come out of the American West. In a shootout, I like Navy to pull out a close victory.
