Wide Receiver/Tight End

Grade: A

AJ Brown, DaMarkus Lodge, DK Metcalf and Van Jefferson. All are incredible receivers and all of them play for Ole Miss. AJ Brown leads the SEC in receiving yards (504). DaMarkus Lodge and DK Metcalf also rank in the top 15 for receiving yards in the SEC. Clearly, this position is stacked for the Rebels and it has been far and away the best position for Ole Miss in 2017.

Going forward the receivers will remain a huge part of the offense. I expect AJ brown to reach 1,000 yards receiving, quite possibly before the month of October is over, he’s already had a 200 yard receiving game this season. His stats would be higher had he not missed the majority of the Cal game with an injury.

Needless to say, it helps a younger quarterback to have such talented receivers. Metcalf had a 2 touchdown game against Auburn and Van Jefferson has stepped his game up lately after a slow start.

Tight Ends have been seldom used this season compared to previous years. Dawson Knox has been the leader of the tight ends but like I said, the position just hasn’t been utilized much this season.
