4. Josh Adams is nation’s best running back

Through six games, this is a completely valid overreaction. However, he has to prove it throughout the entire season. Near the end of the season against Stanford’s Bryce Love, and even against USC’s Ronal Jones II, Josh Adams will get to test himself against other top-tier backs. He has the opportunity to out-shine two of college football’s best backs.

Is Adams the best running back college football has to offer? Not just yet, but he has reached the top-five conversation. He has been slicing through opposing defenses like a hot knife through butter to the tune of 776 yards and five touchdowns on an incredible 9.0 yards per carry.

And he’s been doing all this with two capable backs behind him in Deon McIntosh and Dexter Williams. Heck, even Tony Jones Jr. has been getting carries.

The fact of the matter is that Adams is an elite back and he probably is the most underrated in college football. Is he the best back, though? Not just yet. It’ll take time to earn that distinction, but he has placed himself in the top-tier of running backs and he’s only getting stronger as the year progresses.
