Texas Football: 5 reasons the Longhorns will upset Oklahoma

5. DeShon Elliott

DeShon Elliott has shown the ability to be a difference maker in the Longhorns’ secondary. He leads the nation with five interceptions and has picked off a pass in three straight games.

It will be interesting to see if Elliott and the Texas secondary can bait Mayfield into any errant throws. If Elliott or any of the Longhorns can reel in a pick or two, Texas’ chances of an upset increase dramatically.

It’s also worth noting that Texas has held its opponents to a 56 percent completion rate on the season. With Mayfield completing 75 percent coming in, if Texas can be at or near that 56 percent, it would be a huge ‘win’ for the Longhorns defense.
