2. Kennedy McKoy is the game’s leading rusher

There’s a lot of talented rushers taking part in this matchup. We’ll start with Texas Tech with Justin Stockton, Desmond Nisby, and Tre King. West Virginia has sophomore running back Kennedy McKoy and senior running back Justin Crawford to counter.

Crawford is the leading rusher for the Mountaineers, with 562 yards and six touchdowns. He’s been one of the most consistent backfield producers in the Big 12 this season. McKoy is second on the team in rushing yards with 216 and three touchdowns.

Stockton has less than 400 rushing yards this season and he is Texas Tech’s leader. West Virginia does have the advantage on the ground. In the last game that the Red Raiders played against Oklahoma State, they allowed 164 yards to sophomore Justice Hill.

This is a vulnerable Texas Tech front seven, especially with all the versatility on the West Virginia offense. There’s so many ways that the Mountaineers can beat you. A very good running back duo, deep receiving corps, and talented quarterback highlight a tremendous offense for West Virginia.
