Will he keep his job?

Much like his coaching adversary Butch Jones at Tennessee, Kevin Sumlin is sure to still face pressure from the media, Aggie board members and fans in the coming days despite earning the win.

Texas A&M appeared to be back following four consecutive wins in which they scored 95 points during a two-game stretch. They also won two SEC games over Arkansas and South Carolina, and even gave Alabama its toughest game to date before falling 27-19 last week.

But this didn’t look good.

That vaunted Texas A&M ground attack disappeared, as Keith Ford looked lost and Trayveon Williams ran for less than two yards per carry.

While no real fault to him, Sumlin will also likely receive blame for the whole extra-down given to Florida early in the contest that resulted in a touchdown. His “haters” will say Sumlin should have recognized what was happening before it did.

Right or wrong, that bubble surrounding Sumlin in College Station is going to keep deflating and forcing him to figure things out quickly in order to keep his job.

This win likely silenced a few of the critics, but for how long? To his benefit, Texas A&M does play three straight at home in the coming weeks, with just one coming vs. a ranked opponent in Auburn.
