Putting out an alert for the Aggie ‘O’

Remember when Texas A&M put an absolute beating on UCLA in the first half behind Trayveon Williams and Keith Ford? Yeah, I’m struggling to remember either. Williams and Ford must have felt like they were stuck in neutral all night and going up against the Florida defense of glory days on Saturday.

Williams, a sophomore from Houston, entered the night averaging over five yards per carry. He had over 500 yards of total offense coming in with five touchdowns, but was held to 18 yards on 10 carries – 1.8 per attempt. Ford, meanwhile, came in with 321 yards and seven scores, but managed just 22 on nine totes.

When you are still breaking in a young quarterback like the Aggies are with Kellen Mond, surrounding him with a great run game and excellent wide receivers is the key.

Mond probably thought he would get at least one of those, but star Christian Kirk was held in-check, catching two passes for 44 yards.

Thankfully for Aggie fans, Mond was able to do enough to pull out the come-from-behind victory.
